Nate Williams

Name and location?
Nate Williams, Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Mac or PC?
PC

What do you do to relax?

I sit on a park bench, watch people and listen to podcasts on history, news and science or take a subway to a random place to see a new neighbourhood.

Which living designer/artist do you most admire, and why?
Matt Stone and Trey Parker because they make me laugh .. or maybe Dane Cook .. I like the way they think. I like that their work goes beyond the art world, anyone can appreciate it, anyone with a sense of humor of course.

What would you consider your ideal project?
Inventing products.

What do you consider you greatest achievement?
Leaving the rat race, trading money for time. Right now it still seems like a good trade off, we'll see in a couple of years.

Tell us about this piece of work, how would you describe it?
It's about the neo-conservative influence in the United States.

Is this piece of work commissioned or experimental?
Personal

Talk us through some of the processes involved in producing the work, and have you used similar techniques before?
I read a bunch of news, blogs etc, research topics via the internet and wikipedia, etc .. create characters to personify these concepts .. then make them interact with one another and their environment.

What have you learnt during producing this piece of work?
I annoy myself when I produce political art .. it just seems like complaining! I like when people have a positive impact on the world .. instead of just complaing about it .. but I think it's all part of the process on how to get there. Christopher Reid, Bono, Muhammad Ali and others have really made positive impacts .. Eventually I would like to get there; where I am not just complaining but actually helping in some sort of way ..

How would you best describe your style?
A sponge with attention deficit disorder .. I gather tons of information .. but never going very deep with any of it.

Thanks for being a part of expose. Anything else you’d like to add?
